Celebrated art series returns

Bal Harbour is one of the world’s most fashionable and luxurious locations. Lavish resort hotels and the finest in retail shopping have been hallmarks of The Village for decades.

Now, art has come to play an integral part in Bal Harbour’s programming. Its Unscripted Art Series has had tremendous success both with residents and tourists, and has received international attention in many publications.

“A Conversation with Mark Dion and Rene Morales” on Tuesday, March 18 at 6:30 p.m. is the next installment in the Unscripted Series.

An installation titled The Cabinet of the Machines of Capital, 2012

The conversation will take place at One Bal Harbour Resort and Spa and will feature PAMM Curator Rene Morales speaking with world renowned artist Mark Dion about his engagement with the activity of fieldwork and playing with the role of archeologists, naturalist, scientist and artist.

Dion embarks on explorations and executions that investigate how ideas of natural history circulate within the public domain. These investigations have come to fruition in numerous exhibitions in museums across the globe as well as major public art commissions at the LA Port, the oceanographic museum in Monaco and a large scale permanent commission for Documenta 13 in Kassel.
