Unscripted – A Bal Harbour Creative Project
Don’t miss From A to B and Back Again, one of Village of Bal Harbour’s Unscripted Art Talks. Candice Breitz, a native of Johannesburg, South Africa, now a Berlin-based artist, will give a presentation and join a discussion with NSU Art Museum Fort Lauderdale’s Director and Chief Curator Bonnie Clearwater. The two first met in 2005 when Clearwater was Director of the Museum of Contemporary Art in North Miami where she led an influential and formidable program for 18 years. As part of the Museum’s Cut / Film as Found Object, Breitz and Clearwater worked together. Breitz is known for her video installations that explore how we create and perform in a world saturated by mass media. Her practice captures and observes the nuanced ways in which individuals are determined by the dense social constellations in which they exist. RSVP please.
