6th Annual His House Children’s Home Charity Gala
The Ritz-Carlton in Miami Beach

His House Children’s Home (HHCH), sponsored by Azamara Cruises, Celebrity Cruises, Royal Caribbean International and Comcast, held their 6th Annual Charity Gala at The Ritz-Carlton in Miami Beach to raise funds for South Florida’s abused and neglected children.
Hosted by Emmy Award-winning newscaster and WPLG-TV Local 10 News Co-Anchor Calvin Hughes, the event attracted over 400 guests whose support will benefit the lives of our community’s children in crisis. Greeted by servers with trays of delicious hors d’oeuvres, guests enjoyed browsing the silent auction and eagerly bid on over 100 luxurious auction items that were displayed in the ballroom. Included in the array of items were autographed sports memorabilia, exclusive art, fine dining certificates, cruises, professional services, an entire collection of exquisite jewelry by Montica, plus a raffle opportunity to win a 2009 Ford Escape Hybrid.
After many months of practice, Brad Mercado shared his passion for the guitar and entertained the guests. Brad is one of three brothers at His House, and the audience was moved by his first live Spanish guitar piece. “His Little Angels” then touched the crowd with their graceful dance performance.
“Our 6th Annual Charity Gala is the most significant fundraising event of the year. This is a wonderful opportunity to connect with new friends and encourage community residents to become involved as we expand the resources and services for at-risk children,” said His House Founder and Executive Director Jean Cáceres-Gonzalez.
Special guests included Bill Martin, CIO and Vice President of Royal Caribbean International, as well as HHCH’s Chairman of the Board; Mayor of Hialeah Julio Robaina; Orlando Hernández, “El Duque” of the NY Mets; Britto Central representatives Estee Mandel and Yona Montero; Senior V.P. for Vista Healthplans Peter Joseph; Eastern Financial V.P. of Marketing Mark Holmes; Ikea’s Public Relations Specialist Chantal Nichtawitz; and Mariel Ruiz-Escasena from Events by Mariel.
