Social Snapshot: Debby Magenheimer

The co-president of Young Patronesses of the Opera speaks to us in her own words.

Debby Magenheimer is Co-President of the Young Patronesses of the Opera, (YPO), and has been a member since 2015. Her love of the arts began as a young child as a member of the Hartford Ballet Junior Compay, where she performed in both ballet and modern dance. As a former educator, Magenheimer is passionate about enriching children’s lives through the exposure to opera.  She looks forward to returning to YPO’s traditional opera education programs this year.

Magenheimer holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Richmond. She has worked in many fields; law, travel, accounting, not for profit and education. She serves on the Alumni Recruitment Committee for the University of Richmond, recently completed her term as a Board member for Beech Mountain Club, and was an Ambassador for USA Pickleball.

In her spare time, she enjoys the opera, of course! Magenheimer also promotes and plays the sport of pickleball. She played competitively prior to the Coronavirus pandemic. Magenheimer recently began ballroom dance and you can find her competing as an amateur on the dance floor.
