La Isla De Los Hombres Solos (The Lonely Men’s Island), written in 1968 by José León Sánchez, is considered one of the bestselling Costa Rican literary novels of all time. The story narrates the events that occurred in the San Lucas prison on an island located off Costa Rica’s Pacific Coast. In 2016, Teatro Expressivo brought this relevant novel to the stage when playwright Caridad Svich made an adaptation for theater. A cast of experienced actors brings this work to life, which constitutes an intense reflection on the value of freedom. Presented in Spanish.
