Principal Leadership Awards Presented
The Council for Educational Change hosted the 2015 Leonard Miller Principal Leadership Awards and attracted the who’s who of the Miami’s business community. Three finalists were honored: West Port High School, Marion County, Principal Jayne Ellspermann won first place and $10,000; and Carver Middle School, Palm Beach County, Principal Kiwana Alexander-Prophete and Franklin Boys Preparatory Academy, Hillsborough County, Principal John Haley each received $5,000. The Council for Educational Change pairs business executives with school principals to help improve the quality of education in public schools often in neighborhoods in transition.
