French artist Alain Godon showcases in Design District

Markowicz Fine Art Gallery hosted internationally renowned painter and sculptor Alain Godon at an invitation-only, one-man exhibition, Around the World in Eighty Works. The exhibition featured new sculptures from Godon’s Architectural series, and was the first fine art event taking place at the “new” Miami Design District since Art Basel 2014.

Godon began his Architectural series in 2006. Since then, he has painted and sculpted the sites and spirit of many cities, including Paris, New York, Amsterdam and Miami. Each bronze sculpture is related to an existing painting, and a total of 80 artworks were on exhibit.

3rd Annual Walk the Blue Carpet


More than 300 guests celebrated Kristi House’s 3rd Annual Walk the Blue Carpet event at the Bath Club on Miami Beach. The guests enjoyed a wonderful evening of great music from EMG, delicious food from Relish Miami, the best spirits from Atlantico Rum and coffee provided by Nespresso.

The event raised $63,000 in support for Kristi House’s ongoing commitment to treat and prevent child sexual abuse as well as its program which intervenes on behalf of girls who are victims of sex trafficking, Project GOLD (Girls Owning their Lives and Dreams). This specialized program provides services for children, ages 11 to 18, who have been exploited in prostitution and pornography

22nd Annual Red Cross Spectrum Awards

The American Red Cross South Florida Region held their 22nd Annual Sara Hopkins Woodruff Spectrum Awards For Women, one of the most prestigious women’s awards in South Florida at the Ritz-Carlton Coconut Grove. Almost 300 community leaders attended the Spectrum luncheon and awards reception.

The reception began with a silent auction as well as an exhibit featuring Shapoh, designer millinery, and D.S. Fashion Jewels. The honorees and all of the guests enjoyed the luncheon and awards presentation hosted by Emmy Award-Winning Television Journalist and Mistress of Ceremonies Ileana Bravo. Alfred Sanchez, Executive Director of the American Red Cross Greater Miami & The Keys Chapter, addressed the crowd.
