Lowe Art Museum’s Director’s Circle Reception
Members of the Lowe Art Museum’s Director’s Circle gathered at the annual reception and dinner to select artwork to add to the museum’s permanent collection. Guests were treated to cocktails, dinner, and a lecture by professor and curator Nathan Timpano, which was followed by the vote on artwork to be purchased by the museum. This year the Director’s Circle selected two works by Uruguayan artist Joaquín Torres-García: Composición (Composition), 1935 and Constructivo con sol (Construction with Sun), c. 1937. These works will be included in the museum’s upcoming exhibition Pan American Modernism: Avant-Garde Art in Latin America and the United States
