Miami Pops

Concert Association of Florida (CAF) launched the Miami Pops “Music of the Americas” program with a delightful performance by Pink Martini. The multilingual twelve-piece ensemble known for its mix of genres ranging from Brazilian sambas to sultry cabaret and afro-Cuban rumba entertained a packed Knight Concert Hall at The Adrienne Arsht Center. Part French chanson, Argentine tango and soft merengue with a dash of low-lit jazz lounge, Pink Martini is the 1994 brainchild of Harvard graduate and classically trained pianist, Thomas M. Lauderdale and classmate China Forbes, songwriter and guitarist.
