It has been a whirlwind of shows in venues all over the city in snow, sleet & slush –I was greeted by many a “don’t you wish you were home in Miami now”?
Weather or not, it was magic to be there, backstage & front row………….and the designers delivered!

Nicholas Kirkwood at Saks Bal Harbour
More than 100 people came out to meet British shoe designer Nicholas Kirkwood who was at Saks previewing and signing his Spring 2013 collection. This February, Saks Fifth Avenue will give five percent of all registered purchases made with a Saks Fifth Avenue credit card back to charity with an initiative called Saks Loves Your Cause. The donations will benefit The American Red Cross and The Mount Sinai Medical Foundation and University of Miami Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center.

Elegant Birthday
Miami Beach native Jennifer Elegant recently celebrated her birthday with a stylish luncheon at La Gorce Country Club. The event was given by her husband Justin Elegant and attended by family and friends. Among those attending were her parents Susan and Joel Channing, father-in-law Ira Elegant and friends from all periods of her life, including several from her elementary school class. In honor of Jennifer’s years of service to the Miami Rescue Mission, attendees donated supplies for Hope Totes which provide needy men, women, and children in our communities with basic hygiene items. After the party, over 50 bags filled with toothbrushes, shampoos, soaps and related essentials were donated to the Miami Rescue Mission.
