Jazmin de la Lama has for the past two evenings been reading the Jaguar F-PACE handbook, as she and her husband Fernando bought the car just last weekend. The self-proclaimed “technology enthusiast” is thrilled that her vehicle comes with full-screen 3D navigation, forward traffic detection and vehicle guidance. Yet, even though she’s a new owner, she was still among the first to arrive at the Jaguar Electrifies event running this week in Wynwood, where she can test drive the luxury-maker’s first electric SUV, the I-PACE.
“Mine gets great gas mileage but if the electric vehicle can handle the road with the same power,” says de la Lama. “I’ll want that one next. I had to be the first one here!”
It was a good move. The Jaguar event at the Mana Convention Center Wynwood will run Thursday to Sunday, November 8th to the 11th, featuring not only the experience of full line up of 2019 Jaguar vehicles but also the I-Pace, the brand’s first all-electric-performance SUV. Many guests — including de la Lama — will have the opportunity to drive the Jaguar I-Pace on a timed and scored, closed-circuit SmartCone drive, which offers countless possible routes in one drive.
Also at the event, the luxury car-maker proves it’s a master of taste when it comes to culinary matters. Michelle Bernstein Catering, The Salty Donut, 222 Taco, and Crumb on Parchment will all be there with their own delicious offerings.
“The Electric Lounge,” meanwhile, is an attraction on its own. This area will feature cutting-edge products, such as robots, digital picture frames and virtual reality activities. The 360 degree photo technology experience in a mirrored infinity room will have us leaving with electronic photos we can share on social media, and also a separate spot for what promises to be the ultimate selfie.
