VIDEO: The Bar at St. Regis
The St. Regis Bar at Bal Harbour is a burgeoning Miami hot spot. With live music nightly and an exquisite variety of culinary options – including a gourmet sushi menu – The St. Regis Bar is perfect for date night, business meetings, or to simply relax after a busy day of shopping at Bal Harbour Shops. Additionally, the semi-private wine vault is ideal for corporate functions, baby showers, birthday parties and more; and because it’s adjacent to the bar, events in the wine vault receive at no added cost all of the amenities that The St. Regis Bar offers, including live music, Champaign sabering, and the splendid and serene outdoor area.
Local social figure and former editor of Ocean Drive magazine, Suzy Buckly Woodward, spent some time at The St. Regis Bar, and we documented her experience.
Carlos Luna’s Green Machine Exhibition Opens at Frost Museum of Art – FIU
One of the foremost contemporary Cuban artists, Carlos Luna, is part of a generation of artists who embrace their strong Cuban heritage and traditions but have reinvented themselves along the way. Luna’s exhibition showcases his cross-pollination of influences from living and working in Cuba until 1991, then in Mexico for 13 years, and now in Miami since 2002.
The exhibition, “Green Machine,” in the museum’s Grand Galleries, features more than 120 artworks, most shown for the first time and some created in new mediums he has been experimenting with during the past four years. These include Jacquard tapestries and works on metal sheets with patina and aluminum leaf, plates created in Puebla, Mexico; mixed media on paper and on wood; and his large-scale oil on canvas paintings.
