The Miami Heat Charitable Fund Gala

Dwyane Wade, Gabrielle Union, Chris Riley & Pat Riley

The Miami HEAT Charitable Fund Gala, presented by Hublot, was a black-tie bash to benefit charitable causes supported by the Miami HEAT. Traditionally, the event is held in a private home, but this year the gala took to the beach where festivities were held in view of the ocean at Lummus Park. Gala guests – our Miami HEAT players among them- took a roundabout route to the cocktail reception. They entered through the back door of The Betsy Hotel “speakeasy style” and into the B Bar, which had been totally HEAT-branded by event production team, A Joy Wallace Catering & Design, who handled the décor, florals and service staff.

Cocktails were served in the middle of Ocean Drive, which was closed to traffic for the reception. Guests savored hors d’oeuvres provided by BLT Steak at The Betsy Hotel on a carpeted and gala-worthy section of iconic Ocean Drive. During cocktails, guests vied for auction items, including a sneaker signing and All Star jerseys from Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh, and each guest selected a pair of complimentary DelToro loafers from four designs offered.

For dinner everyone was ushered from Ocean Drive to the dining tent on the beach, walking through an entryway lined by Hublot Watch cases. Dinner was hosted by Miami HEAT sponsor Smith & Wollensky who provided a sumptuous dinner and the culinary staff who prepared it. Each of the dinner tables was hosted by a HEAT player.

Ending off this incredible evening, guests moved yet again, this time to the after-party tent close to the sand dunes where they were treated to a private performance by Grammy Award-winning artist Toni Braxton.
