Empowering Women in Rwanda

Same Sky is a trade-not-aid jewelry initiative that employs HIV+ women who survived the 1994 Genocide in Rwanda. Founded by film producer/philanthropist Francine LeFrak, Same Sky trains and employs artisans to make unique hand-blown glass-beaded bracelets, which come in over 60 distinctive hues. 100% of the profit from the sale of the jewelry is reinvested back into the company to buy more materials and hire more women. In 2009, Same Sky employed 4 artisans and now employs over 40. By buying a bracelet, you are helping women in Rwanda to rebuild their lives in a post-Genocide nation. Colors shown are Pink Blush and Claret Red for Valentine’s Day. $160.
