Benefiting Habitat for Humanity

ChiAlma Lifestyle presented Art, Design and Architecture for Habitat for Humanity: a socially oriented, one of a kind event where art, design and architecture come together to contribute to the present global awakening towards a more sustainable world by pointing to the importance of donating, recycling and reclaiming to build a new way in which human beings create their habitat. As one of the participating galleries from Wynwood Art District, 36 Street ChiAlma hosted an event to launch the Art Basel season by creating a space titled “The Departure Lounge”, which was inspired by NBC6 news anchor Joel Connable and was featured at the Miami Home Design and Remodeling Show with donated items from The Habitat for Humanity ReStore. All of the galleries on 36th street, along with a designer and a celebrity, created installations that inspired the image of the “stage space” and promoted the concept of Donate, Recycle, Reclaim and Build.

The closing of this two-part event will be an Art “Bagel” Brunch to be held on December 7 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. for the presentation of a scavenger hunt where guests can participate in collecting clues woven into the art of participating galleries. The winner will be announced at the event and will receive a gift of art.
