Cuban Legend Guillermo Alvarez Guedes Remembered
Miami Dade College and the City of Miami paid tribute to the late Cuban Comedic Legend Guillermo Alvarez Guedes with the unveiling of a Star in his name on Calle Ocho. A reception and film screening at MDC’s Historic Tower Theater followed the unveiling. The film was composed of clips depicting Guedes’ career, directed and produced by Lucia Sanabria and José Carlos Prado. In attendance were Mayor Tomas Regalado, Alvarez Guedes’ widow, Elsy, family members, artists and community leaders. Pictured: Willy Chirino with Elsy Guedes.
