United Way Women’s Leadership Breakfast at the BankUnited Center
International fashion icon and philanthropist Donna Karan offered the keynote address to a record gathering of 1,200 women at the 11th Annual United Way Women’s Leadership Breakfast at the Bank United Center at the University of Miami. Since 2001, wonder community-minded women gather at this annual breakfast, bringing together resources in support of United Way of Miami-Dade’s work in education, financial stability and health.

Jazz at Pinecrest Gardens 2011/2012 season is coming at you with a whole lot more percussive beat and swingin’ swag than ever before. Eight incredible performances will be showcased under the stars on our beautiful Banyan Bowl stage.(Pictured left.)
Kicking off the season will be the one and only King of Latin Percussion, “Sammy Figueroa and His Latin Jazz Explosion”. The band is currently on tour promoting their 3rd album, Urban Nature, which combines playful fusion jazz with classical beauty. Don’t miss this Grammy Nominated band as they perform it live under the stars!
A Face Gift
A moment in time is often more appreciated in retrospect than in the actual moment. A song or a movie can evoke emotion as the subconscious harkens back to a time gone by.
A photograph can have the same effect; but when that photograph becomes a portrait by artist Leonardo Hidalgo, the actual presentation of the piece becomes one of those sentimental moments for the recipient.
Hidalgo is a rising star with an artistic mindset and demeanor that is transferred from his persona to the canvas. He has created portraits of Golden Age celebrities Sophia Loren, Elizabeth Taylor and Grace Kelly. These pieces adorn the walls of Miami restaurants and common areas of Miami condos and buildings.
