The season kicks off with a bang

Jazz at Pinecrest Gardens 2011/2012 season is coming at you with a whole lot more percussive beat and swingin’ swag than ever before. Eight incredible performances will be showcased under the stars on our beautiful Banyan Bowl stage.

Kicking off the season will be the one and only King of Latin Percussion, “Sammy Figueroa and His Latin Jazz Explosion”. The band is currently on tour promoting their 3rd album, Urban Nature, which combines playful fusion jazz with classical beauty. Don’t miss this Grammy Nominated band as they perform it live under the stars!

SONS OF LEGENDS: Phoenix Rivera, Tito Puente Jr., Miles Dalto and More…
November 12, 8p.m.
S.O.L. is a new Latin Jazz band composed of the sons of some of Latin Jazz’s greatest musicians. Mambo your way into an evening of excitement while revisiting memory lane as these sons of legendary musicians perform in our very own banyan Bowl.

December 10, 8p.m.
At 21, jazz piano prodigy Emmet Cohen plays with the maturity and confidence of a seasoned veteran. He has shared the bandstand with jazz luminaries, including Christian McBride, Joshua Redman, Patti Austin, and many others, and has played and performed at some of the top jazz clubs and festivals around the world, including the Monterey Jazz Festival. Emmet won the prestigious Downbeat Award for Outstanding Jazz Soloist.

ROSE MAX AND RAMATIS

A magical and musical experience with the beautiful voice of Rose and the genuine Brazilian acoustic guitar of Ramatis! It’s the perfect mix of the soulful Brazilian music!

Debbie will be performing a night of great jazz vocals including melodies of the iconic jazz artists Ella Fitzgerald and Bessie Smith; Music that will surely please the most diverse groups. Don’t miss this outstanding performance as Debbie Orta brings the Jazz Season to a close at the Gardens.
