6th Annual Pineapple Sauté & Sip Interactive Dinner
Benefits Baptist Health Breast Center’s CareCoach and Genetic Testing Programs

Guests at Baptist Health’s Pineapple Sauté and Sip were virtually transported to Key West’s Mallory Square for a tropical escape. The event – the sixth annual interactive dinner, which raises money for Baptist Health Breast Center – was held at the JW Marriott Marquis.
Chef Norman Van Aken – “considered South Florida’s most gifted chef” by The New York Times – brought his book “My Key West Kitchen” to life while he led a crowd of student sous-chefs from the Miami Culinary Institute to prepare some of his delicacies. Guests had the privilege of cooking alongside Chef Van Aken as they re-created Key West recipes such as “Port of Call” Crab and Avocado Salad; Ropa Vieja with a “Tournedo for a Mother” with Cheesy Corn Grits and Blistered Corn; and Caramel Flan con Coco.
The interactive dinner raised over $490,000 for two Baptist Health Breast Center services: CareCoach, which provides compassionate support and individualized attention to breast cancer patients and their families before, during and after treatment; and Genetic Testing, which educates patients as to whether they carry genes linked to an increased breast cancer risk.

More than 550 community leaders, survivors, and donors attended the magical evening to support a lifesaving cause and celebrate the many faces of breast cancer. Event chair Beth Rosenstein, general manager and operating vice president of Bloomingdale’s, The Falls, said, “I am beyond proud and humbled to chair the Sauté & Sip, and I chose to chair this event for a myriad of reasons, all of which are quite close to my heart.”
Major sponsors were Bloomingdale’s, the Falls, Celebrity Cruises, Cisco/Presidio, CritiCare Clinics, Inc./South Miami Criticare, Express Travel, Florida Blue, Greenberg Traurig, Grey Goose vodka, Mia Cucina, Miami Culinary Institute, Miami Heat, Press Concepts, Radiology Associates of South Florida, Ryder, Sherry Kranys and Urgent Care Physicians of South Florida
